" Nature Itself Is The Best Physician "
hippocrates
Life Force / Dynamic Level
Homeopathy is a form of medicine that works on the dynamic level and so does our mind. So in homeopathy we say "mind matters most". This means that every disease starts with an imbalance of the mind. This imbalance will do a disturbance or diminution of the so-called life force and that is why we get sick. In order to actually cure a disease, it is necessary to treat the cause, the disturbance of the life force and not just the symptoms. With the help of homeopathy, the self-healing powers of the person are stimulated and the life force is strengthened and restored. Mind, body and soul come into balance, well-being and health are established.
Individuality
Nature is so diverse and unique, and so are we humans. This basic principle of individuality is also reflected in Homeopathy, which perceives people in their emotional, spiritual and physical uniqueness. These three elements cannot be viewed individually and independently of each other, which means that not only the physical complaints, but also character, habits, mental health and illnesses in the family history are examined in detail. Basically, the person, i.e. the individual, is treated, not the disease.
These specific and individual symptoms play an important role in finding the right homeopathic medicine. The homeopath does not prescribe on the basis of a disease name or a diagnosis, but looks for a medicine that suits the individual condition of the patient.
This is also the reason why homeopaths want to know a lot about their patients in their anamnesis that at first glance has nothing to do with the patient's illness or complaint: The aim of this detailed anamnesis is not only to inquire about symptoms, but to understand the human being in his totality, in his whole being and thereby to be able to prescribe his remedy (i.e. remedy picture).
So everyone reacts differently to external influences. Two different people with the same illness, e.g. flu, develop different individual symptoms. And it is precisely these symptoms that are decisive when choosing a remedy. Where one patient finds relief with warm tea, the other patient craves cool drinks.
The Origins Of A Holistic Medicine
The German doctor, pharmacist and chemist Samuel Hahnemann (1755 - 1843) was critical of the treatment methods of his time. Bloodletting, cupping, and the administration of sometimes toxic substances were too arbitrary for him. That is why he temporarily stopped practicing as a doctor and developed a new medical theory on the basis of numerous experiments on friends, relatives and himself.
The best known is his self-experiment in 1790 with china bark: Ingestion triggered the symptoms of Malaria in him - the same clinical picture that was normally treated with china bark. From his findings, he formulated the principle of "Similia Similibus Curentur" (similar is cured by similar), which represents the first pillar of Homeopathy.
The sometimes considerable poisonous effect of the substances used prompted Hahnemann to develop special manufacturing and dilution regulations for homeopathic medicines. By diluting and shaking the drugs, they developed a stronger but less dangerous effect. This "potentiation" or "dynamization" of the substances is seen as the third pillar of homeopathy and should release hidden, dynamic healing forces in the substances that affect the life force and thus keep the patient's body, emotions and mind in balance.
His ideas quickly spread in Germany and France. Outside Europe, homeopathy plays an important role especially in India, Latin America and the USA.
According to the World Health Organization and given the number of people using it worldwide, Homeopathy it is the second largest medical system in the world after western Medicine. A growing treasure trove of several thousand remedies are now available to the homeopath.
The Principle Of Similarity "Similia Similibus Curentur"-
The First Pillar Of Classical Homeopathy
The principle of similarity is seen as the first pillar of classical homeopathy. This means that the remedy picture should be as similar as possible to the picture of the sick person and their symptoms. One could say that classical homeopathy works and functions with the recognition and understanding of the patient. If the personality of the sick person is seen and understood, if he is well understood by the homeopath treating him with all his complaints, his state of mind and his thinking, it is also possible to find the right homeopathic remedy. This similar homeopathic remedy is also called the "similimum" and can cure all ailments of the patient.
So the aim of homeopathy is to correlate the symptoms of a patient as a whole with a remedy picture. In a healthy person, for example, cutting an onion (Allium cepa) causes the following symptoms: tearing, runny nose, itchy eyes, urge to sneeze. Accordingly, Allium cepa is also used as a cold remedy.
The Principle Of Drug Testing
-
The Second Pillar Of Classical Homeopathy
Homeopathic medicines are tested and determined by drug testing on healthy volunteers. These subjects develop symptoms after a few days. These symptoms are cured by the same means in sick people. In homeopathic treatment, a disease can be cured by a drug that causes an "artificial disease" with similar symptoms in a healthy person. This examination of the active ingredient effect on healthy people is known as drug testing and, in addition to the principle of similarity, is another pillar of homeopathy. The totality of all symptoms caused by a substance is called the drug picture or remedy picture.
The Principle Of "Potentiation"
-
The Third Pillar Of Classical Homeopathy
The third pillar of classical homeopathy is the potentiation of the starting substance. The homeopathic remedies are obtained from the plant and animal kingdoms as well as from minerals, metals and substances extracted from diseases.
These are not given in their original form, but are diluted and shaken. This leads to a potentiation of their effect and to the elimination of the toxic effect of toxic substances (such as arsenic or belladonna) for humans.
